Josefina Mendez is a jazz vocalist originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, now beloved in the Roaring Fork Valley. Singing in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Josefina brings a signature blend of swing, bossa nova, samba, tangos, and boleros to every performance.
Josefina began studying music at age 15 with four years of Italian operatic voice training, then deepened her jazz technique under Brazilian jazz singer Livia Barbosa. At 18, she became the youngest singer to perform with La Orquesta Argentina de Jazz.
After relocating to Colorado in 2001, Josefina continued building her artistry through dedicated study in voice technique, ear training, and musicianship, and she has recorded multiple albums including Todo Llega, Songs of Love and Longing, and Christmas Time is Here.
